Thirty four years after events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, a down-and-out Johnny Lawrence seeks redemption by reopening the infamous Cobra Kai dojo, reigniting his rivalry with a now successful Daniel LaRusso. The fourth season came out recently and all I can say is that it’s really good as there isn’t a traditional “bad guy” or “good guy.” Every character (and each dojo) has flaws, as well as strengths. Cobra Kai, while a drama, also doesn’t take itself too seriously, so the vibe is lighter (and gets darker) and even comedic at times. This brings a wonderful balance to the show.
