‘The Hole’… Would’ve been a great name for a glory hole, however it’s the name of the city where one wrong turn could make you end up becoming a victim of a magical experiment of a random sorcerer looking to hone their craft, or just looking for some kicks.
One such victim is our Main Character, Kaiman, who one day woke up with a lizard head, an immunity to magic, no memory of his past life… And one WEIRD fucking lead.
With help from the woman who found him, Nikaido, the two of them hunt down Sorcerers to find out what happened to Kaiman…
And now that the synopsis is out of the way, I MUST point out that this series was done by Mappa(Jiu Jutsu Kaisen/Final Attack on Titan season). Also it’s mostly CGI, but it’s honestly fine.
Going into this anime blind, I completely fell in love and pretty much dove right into the manga once the first season was finished. It’s got world building that I feel like hits around that same level as Hunter x Hunter’s, it’s definitely highly creative, it’s entertainingly bizarre, and can get pretty graphic in it’s violence.
However despite having like at most a 13-episode season so far, it’s got five Ending songs, and ALL of them fire.
