Iron-blooded orphans is an alternate universe mecha war drama of the Gundam series, since it is an alternate universe of the franchise you don’t need to have watched any other series of the franchise because the anime is on it’s own timeline. This series is one of the best Gundam has ever seen and is full of great fights, political intrigue and the drama of war.
I recommend to watch the first and second episodes together since episode 2 is the direct sequence of episode 1.
