Hey Lee and Director,
I think this anime would be a perfect fit for you guys. You watch a lot of romcoms and school-life series, and this one would be especially fun to react to particularly for Director.
The main character is a pessimistic, introverted teenager who basically hates society because of his past experiences. Watching him slowly grow and change as a person is one of the best parts of the show. It’s got that classic character-development feel mixed with real emotions, drama, comedy, romance, school life, and slice of life.
You’ve already watched Makeine, Classroom of the Elite, Bunny Girl Senpai, and Toradora, and this has some similar vibes in places… but it’s more of a classic. Some of the reactors have already covered it in the past like (Cawcaw TV and AlanaMisako on Patreon, The React Pack on Youtube, Semblance of Sanity on Youtube, Cara and Prez Reacts on Youtube, etc.), so you can check those out if you want.
Anime: My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong, As I Expected (SNAFU / Oregairu)
Season 1: April–June 2013 (12 episodes)
Season 2 (Too!): April–June 2015 (12 episodes)
Season 3 (Climax): July–September 2020 (12 episodes)
On MyAnimeList it’s sitting around 8.00–8.35, and honestly I think it’s one of the best romantic comedies out there if you like actual character growth and genuine emotions.
You can watch this as a replacement for Rent-a-Girlfriend once you’re finished with it.
Director might especially relate to the MC from what I’ve observed of him. You can also ask some of the older anime fans on your Patreon if they’d be interested… some of them might know how peak this story is.
Would love if you guys considered it. Watching Lee and Director react to this one would be great.
IDK if you will see my recommendation lol, but it will probably get buried since there’s a lot of new/upcoming shows… anyways just want to take a shot on recommending a good anime even if its no use!
